We are a 100% volunteer-based, charitable organization that supports teachers, students, schools and communities.
The Life Writes Project builds capacity in everyone involved in a young person’s education through storytelling and dialogue. We believe these practices allow school children to participate in a more connected community.
What We've Achieved
- The Life Writes Project has successfully designed and enacted a complete summer school credit-recovery program for a large suburban public school system in Central Pennsylvania.
- The project conducted two service-learning opportunities for middle school students in the greater Harrisburg, PA area in 2014 and 2015.
- Life Writes hosts an annual community exhibition in partnership with the Lower Paxton Arts Council to highlight and celebrate the writing and art of local school children.
- The Project has also sent a team of teachers and administrators on a professional and cultural exchange to Medellin, Colombia.
